Playing with symbols, it may seem surprising that Elva (eleven in Swedish) is not therefore rather called Tio (ten in Swedish). Is there room for chance in music? When looking closer, the fifth prime number is present in the album: eleven songs, eleven hours marked on the clock, etc. What would be this eleventh missing element of the music score, such as the F11 key of the computer keyboard displaying the full screen or hiding windows? Should we see another sign when we know that Elva arrived on the 29th of the month? But, hey, who could have planned this?
Here is another sign: published without the solo track of Lise, the music score of the same name has only ten tunes. If the cover is the same as the one of the CD, something is missing. Is there an eleventh character, an eleventh instrument, an eleventh place hidden in Elva? It is not by revealing a secret that we will reach the moon, with Apollo 11, that we will explain the eleven dimensions of the universe according to string theory, or follow the eleven magnetic cycles of the sun, but talking of numbers, symbols, mysteries, is that not already talking about the essence of music?
Eleventh intervals, eleven repeated chords, 164 bar numbers in total (1+6+4)... the tune Hosing the Flowers by itself represents this symbolic number. At the eleventh hour we will say that Elva is a journey through time: real time, dream time, through the music, the styles and instruments, from before (Som förr, before in Swedish) to the modern time.
Elva is available in CD and in music book.
